KPKP Department-Agriculture Ministry Cooperate for Cattle and Buffaloes Data Collecting

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department cooperates with Agriculture Ministry's Agriculture Information System and Data Center (Pusdatin Kementan) to collect data of cattle and buffaloes in Jakarta on February 7- March 22, 2019 using National Animal Health Information System (iSIKHNAS).

Cattle and buffaloes population data is needed for many aspects

Jakarta KPKP Department's Livestock Division Head, Sri Hartati said, data collecting is needed to update data about cattle and buffaloes population in Jakarta because last data collection was done in 2013.

"We collect data by directly visiting the farms in five Jakarta regions. Then, we validate data from each regions and input it to iSIKHNAS system in Agriculture Ministry," she explained, Wednesday (2/13).

Jakarta KPKP-IPB Cooperates in Maritime and Animal Husbandry Fields

According to her, data that informs about cattle and buffaloes population in Jakarta could be used as supporting aspects in policy making, livestock health services, and development in milk and meat productions.

"Cattle and buffaloes population data is needed for many aspects, such as to calculate amount of vaccine and drug assistance needed," she conveyed.
